Concejales de Guanta, aprueban solicitar al CNE convocar Referendo Consultivo, sobre Ley de Descentralización
GUANTA.- Este miércoles, en sesión ordinaria, la Cámara Municipal de Guanta aprobó, con el voto favorable de seis de los siete concejales, solicitar al Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) la celebración de un referendo consultivo en la ciudad portuaria sobre la decisión de traspasar la competencia de Puertos de Anzoátegui (Pasa) al Ejecutivo nacional. Leonardo Rondón, presidente del ente edilicio, explicó que la medida busca consultar a los guanteños si están de acuerdo o no con la toma de estas instalaciones. “La Constitución Nacional nos ampara. Tenemos el acuerdo, y ahora vamos a esperar que las otras cámaras que dijeron que tomarían la misma acción lo hagan para ir todos juntos a hacer la petición formal ante el CNE”.
Por su parte el coordinador general de Primero Justicia en esa jurisdicción Manuel Fernández, explico que toda la estructura de la tolda aurinegra trabajara desde ya, para que dicho proceso se realice tal cual como lo establece la constitución nacional. “No queremos que ahora venga el CNE a decirnos que esto no es prioridad, que no hay recursos, o con cualquier otro cuento, nos vamos a restear para que la opinión del pueblo de Guanta sea escuchada”
Por ello estamos promoviendo la creación del frente UNIDOS POR GUANTA, instancia donde los distintos factores que adversamos el proceso centralista del chavismo, podamos definir acciones conjuntas, en defensa de la democracia de nuestro país.
Como se recordará, siete concejos municipales aseguraron que pedirían un referendo consultivo. De esto, hasta los momentos sólo Urbaneja y Guanta lo han aprobado. Faltan Píritu, Miranda, Freites, Simón Rodríguez y Peñalver.
Mandato
El edil guanteño Jesús Navarro, afecto al oficialismo, fue el único en votar en contra, al alegar que la toma de los puertos y aeropuertos es un mandato constitucional.
Por su parte, el alcalde Jonathan Marín aseguró que con esto “la Cámara Municipal demuestra pretensiones de desestabilizar, y que no está en consonancia con el desarrollo de la ciudad”. Asimismo, dijo que el pueblo hizo una demostración de apoyo a la medida, y si se realiza el referendo, “yo llamaré a un cabildo, y así demostraremos que el fascismo y el golpismo no van a seguir en Guanta”.

Guanta es una ciudad venezolana ubicada al noroeste del Estado Anzoátegui al oriente del país. Tiene una población de poco más de 30.000 habitantes. Es la capital del municipio Guanta y forma parte del área metropolitana de Anzoátegui junto con las ciudades de Barcelona, Lechería y Puerto La Cruz. Presenta una temperatura media anual de 32ºc.El crecimiento de Puerto La Cruz reforzó su crecimiento de manera indirecta, tanto que en 1950 se construye una refinería muy cerca del pueblo y del puerto y un año antes se instala la industria del cemento operarando cerca de la ciudad ayudando aún más al crecimiento de Guanta, al establecer el puerto Pertigalete para esas exportaciones. Hoy en día el Puerto de Guanta es el 4to más importante del país.
